- What is the treatment process for Invisalign®?
Step 1 – A consultation with Dr. Kidder to evaluate your smile and create a customized treatment plan. Dr. Kidder will discuss your teeth-straightening goals with you and examine your smile to determine your specific needs. We will give you an estimate of the time required and cost of treatment. If you decide on Invisalign® treatment, we will make financial arrangements and get impressions and photos of your teeth.
Step 2 – Your information is sent to Invisalign® and the aligners are created. You will begin wearing the aligners and change
Step 3- We will schedule regular appointments once every four to six weeks to ensure your Invisalign® treatment is progressing as planned.
Step 4 – Continue treatment until your teeth have reached their desired position.
Step 5 – Every time you look in the mirror now, you will see beautiful, straight teeth! Smile!
- How many hours per day do I need to wear the aligners? It’s recommended that you wear your Invisalign® clear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day, taking them out just for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. The more diligent you are about wearing your aligners, the faster and better the results you will enjoy!
- Will people really not know that I am wearing an aligner tray? Yes and no. If you are up close to someone, you can sometimes tell they are wearing the aligners. However, the trays are crystal clear and very thin, so most people won’t know you have them in, whereas metal braces are hard to miss!
- Can I whiten my teeth while I'm having Invisalign® treatment? We always recommend patients whiten while they are in treatment with Invisalign® because the aligners make a perfect whitening tray, and you will be wearing them 20-22 hours a day anyway. You also save money on whitening because you only have to purchase the whitening gel. There is no need for the custom tray.
