What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?
All-on-4 is an implant-supported full-arch restoration that uses only four titanium implants to support an entire upper or lower set of teeth. Unlike traditional dentures that rest on the gums and require adhesives, All-on-4 implants fuse with your jawbone, creating a secure and long-lasting foundation for a full set of prosthetic teeth.
How Do All-on-4 Implants Work?
- Four titanium implants are placed at precise angles to maximize contact with the bone.
- A temporary fixed denture is attached the same day, so you leave the office with a full smile.
- Over a few months, the implants integrate with your jawbone through osseointegration.
- Once healed, a custom-designed permanent prosthetic is placed, restoring full function and aesthetics.
Benefits of All-on-4 Dental Implants
- Permanent, non-removable solution with no slipping or discomfort
- Restores full chewing power so you can eat all your favourite foods
- Helps preserve the jawbone and prevent facial sagging caused by bone loss
- Immediate results, allowing you to leave with a brand-new smile the same day
- More cost-effective than replacing each missing tooth with an individual implant
- Easy maintenance with regular brushing, flossing, and professional dental care
At Kidder Dental, we use advanced dental technology to ensure precise placement and long-lasting results.
Are You a Candidate for All-on-4 Dental Implants?
All-on-4 implants may be the right solution if you:
- Are missing most or all of your teeth in one or both arches
- Are tired of dealing with loose, uncomfortable dentures
- Have enough bone density to support implants, or are willing to undergo bone grafting
- Want a permanent, low-maintenance tooth replacement solution
If you have existing oral health concerns like gum disease, we may recommend periodontal treatment to improve your oral health before moving forward with dental implants.
The All-on-4 Procedure at Kidder Dental
1. Initial Consultation and 3D Imaging
During your first visit, we perform a detailed examination, including digital X-rays and 3D imaging, to assess your jawbone and create a personalized treatment plan.
2. Implant Placement
Four titanium implants are strategically placed in your jawbone. Two implants are positioned in the front of the jaw, while the other two are placed at a slight angle to maximize bone support.
3. Temporary Fixed Teeth
A custom temporary prosthetic is attached to the implants on the same day, allowing you to leave our office with a functional, full smile.
4. Healing and Osseointegration
Over the next three to six months, the implants fuse with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration, creating a strong foundation for your final restoration.
5. Placement of Permanent Teeth
Once healing is complete, a custom-designed, natural-looking permanent prosthetic is securely attached to the implants, restoring full function and aesthetics.
All-on-4 vs. Traditional Dentures
Many patients who switch from traditional dentures to All-on-4 implants experience a significant improvement in comfort, function, and confidence.
